Bible Quizzing is an awesome program for children and teens!

I am excited to say that I have been involved in some form of quizzing since 1980.  My first year of involvement was as a quizzer in which we studied the Book of Acts. At that time I had only been serving the Lord for 2 years, and I was the only one in my family living for God. As I studied the Bible Quizzing materials from the Book of Acts, I would involve my family. By doing this, I not only learned the Word of God, but so did my family members. During that year my mother would visit practices, tournaments, and even our state finals at a youth camp. The Lord was using my experience in Bible Quizzing to reach her, and this was accomplished in May 1981 when she was filled with the Holy Ghost and baptized in Jesus’ Name. I contribute her conversion as a direct result of Bible Quizzing, as well as the many individual influences of the church family that she met during the quiz season.

Through the years I have been told similar stories, of how the Lord used Bible Quizzing and young people to reach others. But quizzing is not only a great witnessing tool; it is a great self improvement tool as well. Bible Quizzing teaches teamwork, study skills, self discipline, and other valuable personal characteristics. Perhaps the most important benefit of quizzing, statistics tell us that a very large percentage of the children involved in quizzing continue to live for God as adults. The Word of God is so powerful!

Having experienced Bible Quizzing as a quizzer, a coach, and now as the North Carolina District Coordinator and Quiz Master, I have seen firsthand the many benefits to our young people that quizzing offers. I encourage every church that has children and teens to become involved in the Bible Quiz program - there is a place for you on a team!
